Celestite is a strontium sulphate mineral, sometimes containing small amounts of barium. Pure Celestite is colourless, impurities give this mineral a wide range of colours. The most common colour is light blue. Celestite is also known as Celestine. Fine specimens are in high demand by collectors, Celestite geodes are particularly prized. |
